Shipping policy
Shipping and Delivery Policy
Furniture Bazaar takes care to ensure your purchases are delivered as safely and efficiently as reasonably possible.
This Shipping and Delivery Policy applies to Furniture Bazaar home deliveries and should be read together with our Terms and Conditions.
Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts or modifies any rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
1. Home Delivery
Where home delivery is selected, Furniture Bazaar will arrange a delivery date once your goods are available and all applicable payment requirements have been satisfied.
Delivery dates and estimated arrival times are provided as estimates only. Furniture Bazaar cannot generally guarantee a specific delivery time.
Where available, an estimated delivery timeframe may be provided before or on the scheduled delivery day.
2. Delivery Charges
Standard delivery charges are based on the information provided at the time of purchase and generally assume reasonable ground-floor access.
Additional delivery charges may apply where:
- stairs or staircases are involved;
- a lift is required;
- the delivery location is above or below ground level;
- access is restricted, difficult or unsafe;
- additional handling, personnel or equipment is required;
- the delivery contains an unusually large number of items;
- the delivery address or access requirements differ from those originally provided;
- delivery arrangements are changed at short notice; or
- the delivery is outside the standard delivery area or service conditions.
Customers are responsible for advising Furniture Bazaar of any unusual or restricted access conditions before delivery is arranged.
3. Access Requirements
Customers are responsible for ensuring there is safe and reasonable access to the delivery location.
This includes ensuring that:
- doors, hallways, stairways and lifts are large enough for the goods;
- the delivery route is clear and reasonably safe;
- any required building or lift access has been arranged;
- pets and other hazards are safely controlled; and
- Furniture Bazaar has been advised of stairs, lifts, narrow access points or other relevant conditions.
Furniture Bazaar and its delivery providers may decline to carry an item through an access point where doing so would create an unreasonable risk of injury or property damage.
4. Delivery Dates and Delays
Delivery and product availability timeframes are estimates unless expressly stated otherwise.
Furniture Bazaar will make reasonable efforts to deliver goods on the scheduled date but may be affected by circumstances outside its reasonable control, including:
- supplier or manufacturing delays;
- transport or freight disruptions;
- traffic conditions;
- severe weather;
- vehicle or equipment failure;
- industrial action;
- natural disasters; or
- other unforeseen circumstances.
Where a material delay occurs, Furniture Bazaar will make reasonable efforts to provide updated delivery information.
5. Changes to Delivery Arrangements
Customers should request changes to delivery instructions or delivery arrangements at least 48 hours before the scheduled delivery date.
Requests made within 48 hours of delivery may not be able to be accommodated and may result in additional charges where costs have already been incurred.
All delivery change requests must be submitted through our Customer Support Form.
6. Receiving Your Delivery
The customer or an authorised representative should be available at the delivery address to receive the goods.
A person who accepts delivery at the nominated address will be treated as authorised to receive the goods unless Furniture Bazaar has been advised otherwise before delivery.
Customers should inspect the goods as soon as reasonably practicable after delivery.
Where a delivery acknowledgement is requested, signing or accepting the delivery confirms that the goods have been received. It does not remove any rights the customer may have in relation to concealed damage, defects or failures under Australian Consumer Law.
7. Unattended Delivery
Furniture Bazaar does not recommend leaving furniture unattended.
Where a customer specifically requests that goods be left unattended, the goods may be left only where the delivery provider considers it safe and reasonable to do so.
Once goods have been delivered in accordance with the customer's unattended-delivery instructions, Furniture Bazaar is not responsible for subsequent theft, loss or damage except to the extent that Furniture Bazaar remains responsible under applicable law.
8. Failed Delivery
If delivery cannot be completed because no authorised person is available, access is unavailable or unsafe, or the delivery cannot reasonably be completed due to circumstances within the customer's control, the goods may be returned to Furniture Bazaar or the applicable delivery depot.
A new delivery date will then need to be arranged and an additional delivery fee may apply.
Any additional charge will reflect the additional delivery service or reasonable costs incurred.
9. Delivery Damage
Customers should inspect furniture for visible transport damage where reasonably practicable.
Any apparent damage should preferably be reported as soon as possible after delivery so that the matter can be investigated promptly.
For boxed products, damage discovered during unpacking should preferably be reported within two working days.
Where reasonably possible, customers should retain original packaging while a damage claim is being assessed, particularly where the item may need to be safely transported.
A failure to report damage within a preferred reporting timeframe does not remove any rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded under Australian Consumer Law.
To report damaged, faulty, missing or incorrect goods, submit a request through our Customer Support Form.
10. Product Measurements and Delivery Access
Customers are responsible for checking product dimensions before purchase and ensuring the goods can reasonably be delivered into the intended location.
This includes measuring doors, hallways, stairs, lifts, entrances and other access points.
Furniture Bazaar does not generally provide a change-of-mind refund because an item does not fit through an access point or into the intended room.
This does not affect rights available under Australian Consumer Law where the goods otherwise fail to comply with a consumer guarantee.
11. Delivery Promotions
From time to time, Furniture Bazaar may offer free or discounted delivery on selected products or qualifying orders.
Promotional delivery offers may be subject to:
- minimum order values;
- maximum delivery allowances;
- selected products;
- eligible delivery areas;
- standard ground-floor access;
- promotion dates; and
- other conditions stated with the relevant offer.
Additional charges may still apply for stairs, lifts, difficult access, regional delivery, special handling or services outside the promotional allowance.
12. Order Cancellations Before Delivery
Furniture Bazaar does not generally provide refunds where a customer simply changes their mind or makes an incorrect selection.
In-store Orders
A request to cancel an in-store order should be submitted at least three working days before the scheduled delivery date.
Website Orders
A request to cancel a website order should be submitted within 24 hours of placing the order where possible.
All cancellation requests must be submitted through our Customer Support Form.
Where Furniture Bazaar agrees to a cancellation that is not required under Australian Consumer Law, a cancellation or restocking charge of up to 20% of the total invoice value may apply, together with reasonable freight, return delivery or other costs already incurred.
Delivery charges are generally not refundable where delivery has already been completed or reasonably attempted, except where otherwise required by law.
If the original purchase included a free or discounted delivery promotion and a change-of-mind cancellation requires goods to be collected or returned, reasonable return freight or delivery costs may be deducted from any applicable credit or refund where permitted by law.
13. Hygiene-sensitive Products
For hygiene reasons, Furniture Bazaar does not accept change-of-mind returns or exchanges for products such as:
- mattresses;
- pillows;
- quilts;
- mattress toppers;
- mattress protectors;
- pillow protectors;
- underblankets; and
- other similar hygiene-sensitive products once opened or used.
This restriction does not apply where the customer is entitled to a remedy under Australian Consumer Law.
14. Customer Support
All delivery enquiries, delivery changes, failed delivery matters, cancellation requests, damaged-product reports, missing-item enquiries and other shipping-related support requests must be submitted through our Customer Support Form.
